Arrow --This Show Really Hits the Mark!

“My name is Oliver Queen. For five years I was stranded on an island with only one goal - survive. Now I will fulfill my father's dying wish - to use the list of names he left me and bring down those who are poisoning my city. To do this, I must become someone else. I must become something else.”
-  Oliver Queen, Arrow Opening.

A few months ago, I was scrolling through Netflix just looking for something to watch when I stumbled upon Arrow. I have always had an interest in superheroes, and I decided that I would give the show a try. After binge-watching several episodes, I realized I was I was in love with it, and Arrow quickly replaced Supernatural as my favorite TV show.
Within three months, I had watched season one and season two of Arrow. Now those of you that love Netflix know that there is one huge draw back to it...you can't watch current episodes. As I sit and wait for season three to pop up on Netflix, I will the second next thing to watching it, I will write about it.

Arrow season one cover

Arrow begins with Oliver Queen on his family’s yatch in the middle of the ocean. A large storm is rolling in, however Oliver is preoccupied with his girlfriend’s sister, Sara. This scene is not only important for the plot of the show, it aslo gives the adience an idea on just  how imature Oliver was a one point in his life. Then the boat is caught in rough waves and begins to sink. Sara is swept under the water, and Oliver is pulled to safety by his father.

After floating it the middle of the ocean for a few days, and realizing the direr circumstances that they are in, Oliver’s father, Robert, commits suicide. However, not before he hands Oliver a little black book, telling him to “right my wrongs”.  The life boat that Oliver is on eventually drifts to land, but there is no signs of civilization, leading Oliver to believe that he is on deserted island.  Little did he know that the next five years would transform him in the warrior that he would need in order to become Green Arrow.
Oliver is rescued from the island five years after he is washed up on its shore. When he returns home, Starling City, he vows to keep the promise that he made to his father-he will stop the crime that ravages through the city. With a green hood and his bow and arrow, he tracks down those that are harming the city the most, and he stops them.

Oliver builds an “arrow cave” under a night club that he opened, that way people wouldn’t get suspicious when he runs in and out of an abandoned building all the time.

For the first few episodes Oliver is doing great on his own, however he soon realizes that he needs help and turns to his body guard, John Diggle and an IT girl that works for Queen Consolidated, Felicity Smoak. Oliver, the damaged man with a mission, Diggle, the tough guy, and Felicity, the comic relief work together to make an unstoppable team.
